How Longshaw Consulting began, and where it is now

Longshaw Consulting Group was founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Madeline and Guy Longshaw.

By then, Madeline had spent more than 14 years in senior HR and consultancy roles, followed by a career as an executive coach, leadership facilitator and management trainer, designing and delivering leadership, coaching and team development programmes for organisations since 2002. Guy had established himself as an executive coach and facilitator, sharing the same belief in helping individuals, teams and organisations achieve their potential.

Together they built Longshaw Consulting around a simple vision: to help organisations unlock the potential of their people through practical, engaging and impactful development. From the beginning, the focus was on confident leaders, high-performing teams, and individuals becoming the very best version of themselves.

How it evolved

Like many businesses, Longshaw Consulting changed shape during the pandemic. Guy returned to one of his lifelong passions, education, and today is a science teacher, form tutor and Head of House at a school near the family home in Hertfordshire. It’s the same commitment that has always underpinned Longshaw Consulting: helping people learn, grow and fulfil their potential.

Today Madeline leads Longshaw Consulting Group and its specialist neurodiversity and inclusion practice, NeuroWorks Training. She is responsible for the day-to-day running of the business and for the design and delivery of every programme.

Still a family business

Longshaw Consulting remains very much family-supported. Behind the scenes, Guy and their three sons all play a part, preparing materials for workshops and team events, reviewing proposals, contributing ideas, supporting marketing and social media, attending conferences, and helping wherever it’s needed.

Longshaw Consulting has grown and evolved, but one belief has never changed: organisations thrive when their people thrive.

Managing People Well

At Longshaw Consulting Group, we believe organisations thrive when their people thrive. We help leaders, teams and individuals build the skills, confidence and mindset to
perform at their best.

From developing outstanding managers and high-performing teams to executive coaching, personal development and creating inclusive workplaces through NeuroWorks Training, everything we do is practical, engaging and designed to create lasting behavioural change.

Our Purpose

To partner with organisations that share our belief that when people grow, organisations grow, helping leaders, teams and individuals achieve meaningful, sustainable change.

Our Vision

To be recognised as a trusted partner that transforms organisations through outstanding leadership, exceptional teamwork and people-centred cultures.

What we stand for

1

Believe in Potential

We see the strengths in people before they see them themselves.

2

Choose Curiosity

We listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions and seek to understand before we judge.

3

Make It Practical

We turn insight into action and learning into lasting habits.

4

Grow Together

We believe growth is continuous, for individuals, teams and organisations.

5

Partner with Purpose

We build trusted relationships and co-create solutions that work in the real world.

6

Create Lasting Impact

Everything we do is designed to make a meaningful difference long after the programme ends.

Practical, tailored, and built to stick

  • 1

    We start with the outcome

Before we design anything, we agree what people will do differently and how you’ll know it’s working.

  • 2

    We tailor everything

No off-the-shelf programmes. Your organisation, your language, your challenges.

  • 3

    We use evidence-based tools

Insights Discovery® and Motivational Maps® give individuals and teams a shared language for how they work best.

  • 4

    We follow through

Our 30-Day Challenge turns workshop insight into embedded habit, long after the room has emptied.

  • 5

    We bring real experience

Our facilitators have led in corporate environments. That’s the difference between theory and hard-won practice.

“It was honestly the best investment in my career and personal development I could have wished for. Madeline is a joy to work with. She has an infectious energy and positivity that sees off those “chattering monkeys” that many of us live with and that threaten to sabotage our own development.

Madeline gives you the space to explore what’s possible, work through the everyday hurdles and to challenge those ingrained beliefs that might be holding you back. She’s the cheerleader everyone needs on their side. If you have the opportunity to try coaching or invest in coaching for your teams, I can’t recommend Madeline enough.

She’ll change your life”
